Meet Natalie

“I’m a native Huntington Beach resident, parent, and small business owner. As your City Councilmember, I’m focused on delivering results for our community, not promoting culture wars or politics.”

GROWING UP IN HUNTINGTON BEACH

Natalie Moser is a native Southern Californian who has called Huntington Beach home for over 40 years. Adopted at birth by a working class family, she attended St. Bonaventure School and later graduated from Marina High School. During that time, Natalie was a dedicated ballet and jazz dancer and enjoyed performing with Ballet Repertory Theater for many years.

WORKING HARD TO GET EDUCATED

Natalie worked multiple jobs to support herself through school and was the first in her family to attend college. She transferred from Orange Coast College and graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. She completed her Masters in Business Administration (MBA) at Chapman University where she was the recipient of a Chapman fellowship and a member of the Gamma Beta Phi Honors Society.

LEARNING, GROWING, AND CREATING

Professionally, Natalie worked in continually higher levels of leadership in the financial services and credit union industry, culminating as a Director of Organizational Performance and of Member Advocacy. Wanting to start a family, she later shifted focus and ventured out to become a creative entrepreneur, building a successful photography business from the ground up. Natalie’s commitment to documenting her clients’ stories has garnered her awards and the respect of individual clients, editorial magazines, and business owners.

SURVIVING CANCER AND A LIFE SHIFT

Natalie is a breast cancer survivor, diagnosed at age 39. After successful treatment and a tremendous outpouring of community love and support, she went on to travel the country speaking on stage and screen. Speaking on panels and as a keynote speaker for audiences as large as 600 people, she shared her message of hope, intention, community, and gratitude. Natalie related her experiences and inspired and connected with other survivors, scientists, and medical professionals. As time passed, she began to understand the impact of her story and, with a new lease on life, was ready to take all of her experiences and shift her focus to leadership, service, and local change.

FAMILY, COMMUNITY, AND MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Natalie and her family have been active members of the Huntington Beach community for most of her life. She, her husband, and two children have been involved with Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, the Circle View PTO Board, Circle View School Site Council, Mesa View PTSO, Mesa View School Site Council, the Greater Huntington Beach Interfaith Council, Homeless United HB, and as a founding board member for the McKenna Claire Foundation for Pediatric Brain Cancer. As an advocate for children and schools, Natalie was honored as one of Ocean View School District’s Volunteers of the Year in 2020.

A RECORD OF SERVICE TO OUR COMMUNITY

In late 2016, Natalie committed herself to help heal the deep divisions at large and in the local community through dialogue. She was appointed to the City of Huntington Beach Human Relations Task Force in 2017 and later led the group as the Chairperson. There, she worked to uphold the task force’s mission to “celebrate and promote diversity in our community through education and understanding” by working with elected officials, City staff, local educators, OC Human Relations, students, and many dedicated community members. She is proud to have been honored by OC Human Relations with the 2020 Diverse Community Leaders Award for her work on the Youth Voices HB Essay and Art Contest, as well as her efforts to improve community dialogue through the HB LISTENS Conversation Project.

BUILDING A BRIGHTER FUTURE AS A FAMILY

In Natalie’s free time, she supports non-profits close to her heart and supports the arts. She drives her kids to their activities and enjoys spending time at the beach and Wetlands (where she and her husband were engaged).  While her Dad passed in 2021, she’s fortunate to still be able to spend time with her Mom, as well as her birth family. Oh… and she can’t forget her animal family— two rescue dogs named Zoey and Jelly.

Natalie and her family are proud to call Huntington Beach home and look forward to the opportunity to continue believing in and building a brighter future for Huntington Beach.
